Premiership Rankings

Apologies for the delay with the following week's rankings and I've taken advantage of it by taking into account the make-up fixtures (Pompey/Man City and tonight's Man Utd/Fulham match) as well as the FA Cup action this past weekend. No crazy changes this time around as the top 50 is intact, but there's quite some shuffling around as you'd come to expect.

At long last, here's the Premiership top 50 rankings after a Christmas hiatus that extended into February. It goes without saying that I have a profound respect for Brandon Funston over at Yahoo in sorting out his Big Board rankings. Then again, soccer is a hard sport to quantify and justify your rankings; at least Funston can spew out a week's or month's stats as objective reasoning as to why that player is ranked the way he is. So much has changed for a month and a half since I put the rankings on the backburner and as you can expect, there are some wholesale changes.

A change of scenery could do some good and as you can see, the rankings are formatted a bit differently. For some reason, the copy-and-paste straight from Excel didn't come out as right. So, I'll have it in this table format from now on. A change of scenery could do a few United fantasy players some good and hopefully they find their scoring boots. A changing of the guard for Cristiano Ronaldo's top spot might work the Ballon d'Or winner some wonders too.

I know I've been discounting Ashley Young a bit on the rankings of late, but fact of the matter is, even if he doesn't score, he's a near-double digits a week man in Yahoo, in the same vein as Shaun Wright-Phillips. However, that two-goal game-winning performance was inspiration enough to launch Ashley back in the top 5. Also, a mild bump for Captain Scouse and a big bump up the board for one Scouser-turned-Galactico-turned-Geordie. Enjoy.

So, here you go, without further ado, the Fantasy Premiership's Top 50. Because I skipped a week, I factored in the prior week when considering my rankings. I had a weird dream that some guy joined RotoDatabase just to spam posts on why Fulham's Andrew Johnson deserves to be in the top 50. Well, guess what, I bumped him out and so, I think I'll play with fire. Enjoy.

Fantasy Premiership Week 14-15 Top 50 Rankings:

I'm a bit late on posting the rankings and as usual, there were some noticeable changes, but nothing too drastic. Somehow, I couldn't resist putting Nicolas Anelka into the top 3 and it's justified. Enjoy.

Week 13 Top 50 Fantasy Premiership Rankings:

As usual, there were some blow-ups to be had in the top 50, with a few of the weekend's two-goal scorers receiving big boosts.

Week 12 Top 50 Premiership Rankings:

A day late on the Top 50 Fantasy Premiership player rankings, but here it is. Some drastic changes at the bottom, as I tend to frown upon injuries/suspensions at least for the near future. Enjoy.
