run jimmy run!

Jimmy Rollims has been without a doubt, the most frustrating player for me this season. I built everyone of my teams around the guy. I own him on every roster except maybe one. Talk about taking a beating.

sure I am happy to see him finally coming around, but it is just a tad too late to make a difference me thinks.

Jimmy Rollins, with swagger

Jimmy "Sparkplug" Rollins is at it again. Rollins went 2-4 Friday versus Toronto with 2 runs scored to help the Phillies easily dispose of the BlueJays. Rollins hiked his average to .310 on the season and looks to be back to normal once again.

and you have no idea how nice it is to have you back Jimmy.

Deep middle infield pool this year?

Well I don't agree with drafting Rollins in the first and Martin the second round, but I picked this up from roto authority, and figured I'd share.

After running the numbers, I realized that there are exactly 36 middle infielders within the top 144 non-catchers. Point being, there's no scarcity for middle infielders this year if my projections are anywhere close. There are exactly enough MIs who can hit. No value boost is justified for playing second base or shortstop. Does that mean the Holy Trio of Ramirez/Reyes/Rollins is overrated? Nope. They're all still first rounders. It's just that they belong that high on the merit of their stats alone, not their positions. By the way, catcher scarcity is alive and well and drafting Russell Martin in the second round would be justifiable (though his Average Draft Position is currently 30.19).

Rollins wins MVP

Jimmy Rollins can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Gold Glove shortstop and Silver Slugger winner was named the National League Most Valuable Player this afternoon, giving the Philadelphia Phillies the NL MVP in consecutive seasons.
