Losing Andruw Jones is not the Dodgers' biggest problem

I'll tell you what is going to happen, the DBacks and Dodgers are going to dick around, and let the Padres right back into this race. It is early, not even June yet.

Four months of baseball left people .

Losing Andruw Jones to the disabled list should be a big deal, but he was hitting .165 before Tuesday's surgery. So the Dodgers aren't missing much ... and they don't have much, either.

Last year's Dodgers had one player -- Jeff Kent, now 40 years old -- hit 20 home runs. Jones was supposed to help solve that problem.

Even as he struggled in 2007, Jones hit 26 homers and hit 92 homers combined in '05 and '06. But with Jones an utter dud, the Dodgers have hit just 33 home runs, last in the National League, and after their second consecutive 3-1 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday, their .387 slugging percentage is third-worst in the league.
