Well the NFL season draws to a close, this might be close to my first post of the season regarding the SB INternational league, so I must apologise for my poor effort. If only the players I drafted this year would apologise to me for their poor effort.... 5 losses to end my season saw my finishan embarrasing 12th with a 4-9 record.
The playoff teams were all reasonably equal, with teams 4th to 6th having a 8-5 record, while the top 3 all finished 9-4.... however to be fair the SaultCrew finished over 100 points better than anyone else with 1549 points (an average of just over 119 points per week).
Teams 5 and 6 (Sydney Scorpions and RS Panzers) were justifiably knocked out in week 1 of the playoffs, so we headed to the semi-final stage with the top4 teams after the first 13 weeks.
While SaultCrew continued his dominance with 152 points to knock out the 4 seed (RJ Panzers), the #2 seed PAPAO Club met his match as the Gold Coast Crushers (3rd seed, 126 points) booked a date with the rightful favourite. It was fair that two of the 9-4 teams made the final, but the Crew were for sure the favourite.
But as they say, 'That is why they play the game'.
The Packers smashed Seattle, but Rodgers (18 points) just kept passing off to the running game. The Giants defense (NEGATIVE 3 points) got smashed. Frank Gore (21 points) tried hard, but no one else contributed for the SaultCrew. On the other side - Tom Brady (35 points) blew away Jacksonville, while Andre Johnson, Beanie Wells and Marion Barber all put together 15+ point weeks.
By the time Chicago beat Minnesota in OT, the Gold Coast Crushers (115.78 points) were already International Super Bowl champions. The SaultCrew (75.98 points) just came up 1 week short, but they gave us a show all week no doubt.
