This is where H0rt crawls into a shell and crys, right?

Fernando Nieve came crashing back to reality. The Mets dipped below .500 for the first time since May 5 as a result. And if you're thinking the core will be back soon with a life preserver, not so fast, said Jerry Manuel.

"I'll tell you, I haven't gotten anything favorable at this point," the manager confessed after the Mets lost to the Brewers, 10-6, Monday night, referring to any indication Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes or Carlos Delgado will be back soon. "This might be what we have to deal with for a while. What I have to do is figure out a way to get this group to play at its highest level."

There is always next year :)

Other than the Subway Series over the weekend, and only cause I had put money on it with a friend after Game 1 of their earlier meeting, I haven't watched the Mets in nearly two weeks, purposefully. As a result, my blood pressure has gone back down to normal levels, and I'm enjoying a general higher overall quality of life.
