Bush placed on DL

Dave Bush has never missed a start as a professional. Never once. Not in the minor leagues. Not in the big leagues.

But that run will come to a halt Thursday when the Milwaukee Brewers right-hander will miss his start after the club placed him on the disabled list Tuesday because of a micro-tear in his right triceps. His stint will be retroactive to Sunday, the day after he lasted just three innings in Detroit and lost his third game in four starts. Bush is expected to be out two to three weeks and likely won't start again until after the July 12-15 all-star break.

Bush had an MRI Monday that revealed a micro-tear in his triceps, just above his right elbow, where a line drive by Hanley Ramirez struck him June 4 in his start at Florida. The tear was caused by the liner and Bush's recovery time between starts has been significantly slowed since then.
