Okay, I know it's late. But with the lack of picks I've been making lately, coupled with meeting my family for some dinner, I figure, as the title suggests, better late than never. So let's just get right to it...
Mike Pelfrey (R), NYM (50% Owned) vs Sean West (L), FLA
The last time Big Pelf allowed more than 3 ER in a given start was April 25th. He's rattled off four consecutive Quality Starts since then, and should continue the trend tomorrow against the fish and Sean West, who happens to be left-handed, who the Mets happen to punish this season. So, I expect Pelf to be in line for a W tomorrow, to boot. This was the start I was hoping could help propel me into some upward momentum after Trevor Cahill came through for the kid last night. This is my money pick for tomorrow, and the one guy I am fully confident will be Spot * On. Vegas loves Pelf too, as a -175 favorite, and -115 juice on Under 9 Total Runs.
Joel Piñeiro (R), STL (38% Owned) @ Matt Cain (R), SF
Maybe you haven't noticed, but Piñeiro has quietly been excellent this year for the Cards. He may not be mowing batters down with Ks, but the fact that he's unowned in 62% of Yahoo! Plus Leagues is puzzling to me. Coming off of back-to-back Quality Starts, including a Complete Game Shutout against the Cubs, I really like his chances against Los Gigantes in San Fran tomorrow. He's just a +105 underdog to Matt Cain, with -115 juice on Under 7.5 Total Runs, so Vegas seems to like him as well. If you don't like my homer pick above, this is the direction I'd look. Don't expect strikeouts, but a QS and solid all-around ratios are on the menu.
Since it's so late, I won't get deeper than that. I'm just glad I've got two picks I'm confident in tomorrow, because with Cahill not laying an egg for me Wednesday night, as Herm Edwards once said, "We can build on this!"
Until we build on this...

Oh yeah and the guy I'm watching tomorrow is J.A. Happ (L) (43% Owned). I'm actually spot starting him in Behrens' league, sitting Josh Outman and Dontrelle Willis. I think he's going to have a very nice outing, and just missed the cut under Mike and Joel. If you've got him in your deeper leagues, though, you've got my blessing to give him a go.
Piniero is the pick for me. Picked him up last night.
Two other guys who could produce......
Feldman vs my A's. He's been very presentable lately.
And if you're a reckless weirdo like h0rt, Detwiler @PHI.
Detwiler REALLY hasn't been getting the usual rookie hype that he deserves, and the only site that has show ANY love for him is baseballHQ.
PHI actually aren't awful vs LHP, but Detwiler might still be playing the "unfamiliar" card.

Thanks to whoever fixed that
Knew I should have rolled with Happ. He's steamrollin' through 5 innings right now. Pelfrey is holding his own as we speak, but I had a great feeling about Happ, and as I said, started him thankfully, in Behrens' league. Should have nutted up and taken him...
