When you have a week like I had last week (full table below), a little sabbatical seems reasonable I think. But, in honor of one of Memorial Day Weekend or Interleague Play (you choose which), I remove my tail from between my legs, and saddle back up to try and regain my confidence, as well as my ratios. The unfamiliarity that teams have with pitchers and vice versa adds a different dynamic which can often lead to unexpected gems, as well as blowups. For the sake of my mental health, let's hope I'm able to spot the former instead of the latter.
Gio Gonzalez (L), OAK (1% Owned) vs Dan Haren (R), ARI
Okay, so Giovany was a guy that, if we remember, I was very big on for this series during the winter. At 23 years old, he's still putting far too many batters on base, even at the AAA level, despite keeping elite strikeout ratios. Despite all that, Dan Haren continues to get little to no run support, and the D-Backs' lineup isn't scaring anybody right now. Arizona has the MLB's 19th ranked OPS vs LHP (.744), and 29th ranked on the Road (.641). This is Gio's first chance to start at Home in Oakland, and I think he makes the most of it, racking up some nice strikeout totals and limiting Arizona offensively. It should be a low scoring affair, and something like 2 - 1 in either direction wouldn't surprise me in the least. He's a +130 underdog against Haren, with -115 juice on Under 7.5 Total Runs. If Gonzalez isn't available in your league, it's probably too deep.
Two other arms worth watching tomorrow are Josh Geer (R), SD (2% Owned) and Homer Bailey (R), CIN (2% Owned). I nearly made Geer my second pick for tomorrow, with the -120 juice on Under 7.5 Total Runs, but coming off of consecutive 5 ER outings, I'm just not willing to take the risk.
Until next time...

The 12%-owned Koji Uehara.
The 47%-owned Jarrod Washburn gets a great matchup against the Giants.
I'm going Detwiler vs Baltimore (Baltimore have .630ish OPS vs LHP) and surprisingly Richmond was available to start vs Craplanta.
Gio still isn't ready. In his AAA stint this year he has walked 20 from 24 innings.
Arizona don't need to swing they can just stand there.
With Harden being sent to the DL and Randy Wells replacing him, not only do I like Geer a lot more (still not enough to start him), I also think that Wells, who has yet to surrender a run in his career, is a guy to watch again today. If it wasn't so late, I'd have taken him because the Padres have one legitimate Major League hitter.
padres going for 8 in a row
Oh God, it's Edgar Gonzalez, not Gio, getting the start for Oakland today. This is why I took five days off. If this were one of those internet sites t hat JT visits, there would be a screencap of my blog with a giant FAIL. in the corner. I guess we'll call this no action and I'll try and actually pick a guy who is starting next time...
