Another exciting week in the UK North has seen the likely contenders for the playoffs reduce down to 8 teams, with the ninth placed team (Norwich Nightwizards) slipping to 12.5 games back of sixth spot with just two weeks remaining. The battle to finish top of the league remains intense with eight teams within just seven points of top place and last weeks leaders (South Shields Yankee) slipping down to 5th place following an 8-3 defeat to the new leaders Redditch Redskins. Hopefully the same fate can befall the Redskins this week as they have to play my third place Tigers who are just 1.5 games back.
The biggest result of the week was for the Darlington Dice K's who's 11-1 victory over the Northampton Squirrels catapulted them into sixth place and dropped the squirrels into 11th almost certainly ending their hopes of making the playoffs.
