I just wanted to get an update out there for everyone that is playing in this seasons H2H Super Bowl.
For the most part, all the leagues are full. I have one opening in New York, one in Ohio/PA, and last I heard, one in the UK. Of course invites have been sent out for all those leagues, but I would really hate to see dummy teams go in those leagues. It might be a possibility though. Keep your fingers crossed we don't.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the turnout. We set the series up very quickly, and still we were able to get close to 100 teams to respond.
One thing I did while setting up all the leagues, was to try and track down the previous scores and standings for the old football leagues. Yahoo gives you the option to link to previous years leagues, so that is what I did. I am 95% confident, I got all the leagues, but it is possible I missed one. For security reasons, Yahoo removes all the email address from the old leagues, smart. But, that means I can't contact all of the previous teams. I have reached out to the ones that I knew, unfortunately there were a few league winners that I don't recognize by team name. People change their team names all the time ya know.
What I'd like to do is reward those previous champions. They won their leagues and never got anything from it, and it was no fault of there own. Just piss poor coordination on our behalf.
So what I am going to do is, for the actual H2H Super Bowl that will begin in 2009, those previous winners already have a seat. I'll take the winners from this years leagues, and all the winners from previous leagues that I can still track down, and that will be our first running of the Championship game.
I doubt anybody would protest.
