If you own Billy Wagner on any team this season, it is ok to exhale now
The results of today’s MRI on Billy Wagner ’s left shoulder revealed nothing of significance, and no structural damage. Dr. Altchek had performed the MRI more as a precautionary measure anyway, so the fact that it came back clean is of no surprise. This seems to be just some minor rotator cuff tightness that every pitcher gets at some point during the season, but it is still worth keeping an eye on.
He will not be placed on the DL, and he may be available for tonight’s game. I would be surprised if he made an appearance tonight. Ultimately, a couple days of rest would be the best course of action until he got through this period of discomfort.
