Joe Koshansky is hitting .280 with 18 home runs and is leading the PCL with 78 RBIs right now. He was just selected to the Triple-A All-Star Game. Hurdle said. "We definitely brought him up to be involved, more so than last year, when he was a bat off the bench.". Now I don't own Todd Helton in any leagues this season, but I do own plenty of other scrubs, so I will be watching for word on this injury over the next couple of days. no doubt about it
Of course, what a perfect time to showcase Joe for a trade.
Helton said he will take an injection on Tuesday. He did not place a timetable on his return, but it will be when he can play in the field and "hit it farther than second base."Manager Clint Hurdle said Helton often plays through pain without complaint, but Helton's recent performance and his increasing pain played a role in the move.
"We just feel we're best served by shutting [him] down for awhile and also giving him a chance to heal, rather than trying to push his way through," Hurdle said. "I don't think he's capable of pushing through this one."
