Wolf's Audition Goes Poorly

Randy Wolf and Greg Maddux are back end of the rotation starters in San Diego. I don't know what people think they are getting in trading for Maddux and Wolf. Cy Young is not available people. I guess I can understand Maddux, his big name and all, one last time, on a big stage somewhere, but he is still a back of the roation guy. He is like 62 years old or something.

Randy Wolf would be a back end of the rotation starter for pretty much every team in baseball. Not just the contenders. Sheesh.

The Phillies and Cubs still might pursue Wolf, perhaps as a fallback. Steven Goldman recently made a good point in the New York Sun - Wolf and Greg Maddux have drastic home-road splits, and would probably only serve as back-end rotation upgrades for most contenders.
