It looks like the Premier League is growing quite nicely. Enough so that we will probably have at least two or even three leagues for the initial season. I think that if the current participants got the word out to a few friends, we may even get to four league by draft time.
As it stands now, it looks like it is going to be USA versus the World.
That got me to thinking about how to handle a championship league for next season, but stay within the spirit of the H2HWS. I think the best solution is to take the top teams overall from each league, and slot them into the championship league. But then how do we reward the league winners themselves, other than a shiny little trophy next to their name?
So I was thinking that letting them choose draft position in the championship game itself, is the best way to go. I don't know if the Premier League set up allows you do that sort of thing, but I do know that Yahoo Baseball does, and that got me to thinking .. .. again .. .. 
Why can't we do the same type thing in H2HWS play? It would only be for the winners leagues [currently H2HWS, USA One, and USA Two]. Lets say the top team based upon overall winning percentage, would get to pick his preferred draft position, and then the second overall team would do the same, and so on.
An interesting concept I think, something worth kicking around.
It would also let teams plan in advance because they knew what their pick would be. Maybe even make it public one week in advance.
One concern would be getting people to reply with their picks in a timely fashion, so i guess we would have to get started early. Up till now, we have had trouble just getting some teams to return, but I think that has more to do with my communications errors more than anything.
We started out year one as a Yahoo group, and that worked out fairly well, but had many limitations. Year two saw a disastrous attempt at a wiki. [ i doubt anybody remembers this]. Year three was the old website that was horrendously slow. So each step along the way we have lost communication with some teams. Some of them league winners.
But I think with our new home here, we can move beyond those errors, hopefully.

The idea is to have a leaderboard of points scored, just like the Premiership itself, where the championship is won by the team with the most points after the season has ended.
On the side, we would have a knockout cup competition that starts off in midseason, just like the FA Cup, inspired by H2H play. We'd have some kind of random draw to determine matchups in advance and then, the team with the most points for the gameweek moves on. To reduce luck, we could have a matchup be determined by 2 or 3 weeks and then determine the winner that way. Again, salary cap rules apply because a draft system would have to be under an honors system under the Premier League game.
So in essence, I'm proposing a Rotodatabase Premier League championship and a Rotodatabase FA Cup competition that has roto and H2H style elements rolled into one.
We could do a draft, but the game doesn't reopen until about a month from now. We'd have to keep a salary cap too and so this will be a draft with an auction element to it.
I have learned through much trial and error, that simpler is better. I was just going to auto draft , and then wing it from there, but it doesn't sound like i get to do that.
and are we going to reset teams half way through, or are teams going to advance to a championship league half way through, i guess thats what i don't understand.
There's no reset of teams. Everyone continues with the same team and they can make weekly transfers in/out (like Yahoo's Salary Cap NFL football game).
What happens is we'll record the matchups here and add on the gameweek score totals for the knockout cup. So, it's not like teams advance to another league, but in our knockout tournament, they do.
So, to clarify, there are two competitions at play here: 1) leaderboard (most points in standings wins league) and 2) knockout cup (last manager standing in H2H elimination play wins cup).
