H2HWS: UK North week 12

A hard fought 7-4 victory for the Leicester Tigers this week with many of the points still able to go either way coming in to the weekend. The majority of the batting points were secured for me on the back of the 5HR, 13RBI, .417Ave, 1.607OPS performance of Jermaine Dye (Edinburgh's Han-Ram and Ichiro helping to secure Runs and SB's for the Scottish team). The pitching was hard fought throughout the week as both teams attempted to overcome the abysmial starts from pitchers at the beginning of the week (Webb for the Tigers, Burnett for the Dukes). I was able to establish an early lead in K's which I held on to throughout the week, whilst Edinburgh held a decisive advantage in WHIP, Holds were shared with 2 apiece (each team picking up their second hold of the week on Sunday), whilst it needed the LA Dodgers to hold onto their 4-3 lead on Sunday to give Billingsly his second win of the week which was enough for me to scrape that stat 4-3. Edinburugh had revenge of soughts by picking up 2 saves against my 1 on Sunday to win that catagory 6-5. ERA was another stat that could have gone either way but ultiamately The Tigers won this by .11 with an ERA of 3.67.

Elsewhere the Ravens dominated in the all Birmingham matchup coming out 9-1 winners, a result that was enough to propel them into a three way tie for sixth place with my Tigers and the Northampton Squirels - 12 games out from Reditch whos 9-2 win over MK Magic has enabled them to open a 4 point lead at the top of the table.
