H2HSBUK - Week 14

Whilst the Ravens and Norwich enjoyed their week off, Coventry battled South Ealing and Oxford took on Guildford for a place in the semi-finals, but who won.........

H2HSB UK - Week 13

Sorry for taking a couple of days to get this posted, though it has to be said that most issues with this league have been settled before this weeks fixtures took place.

Congrats to the Rainow Ravens who finished top with an 11-2 record, and to Norwich who secured the other bye.
Commiserations to the Arden Fleetfoxes who finished out of the playoffs despite amassing the third highest points total over the season.

H2HSB UK - Week 11

Despite playing to 2 deciaml places, this week the UK has produced the most unlikely of results - a tie - with both the Guilford Packers and Norwich No scoring 113.56 points.

Five of the six playoff places are now decided and the sixth is almost certainly going the way of Guilford as they hold a 1.5 game lead over the teams in 7th -9th with only 2 weeks left to go.

Another week, another defeat.  I think I can just about give up on thoughts of the playoffs now....

H2HSB UK - Week 8

With only 5 weeks to go things are not looking good for the Leicester Tigers as they are one of 4 teams stuck at the bottom of the league with a 2-6 record.
Of these 4 teams with the worst win/loss record, three of them - Arden Fleetfoxes, Ealing Bears and Leicester Tigers - have all scored more points than any of the teams in positions 5 to 8.  The fleetfoxes have scored more than the league leading, 7-1,  Oxford Knights.

H2HSB - UK, Week 6

Big scores in the NFL invariably lead to some large fantasy scores, and this week was no exception with three teams topping 150 points and only 1 matchup where either team failed to get into three figures.

This weeks Patriots vs Titans battle was  won by Norwich No (181.72) with a victory margin of 111.5 points against the St Leonards Dolphins (70.22).  This takes Norwich to 5-1, whilst the Titans would most likely give quite a lot for St Leonards 2 and 4 record.

H2HSB - UK week 5

Will this be the week when the season turns on its head for the teams in the UK.  It was certainly the week when the two previously winless teams recorded a victory - special praise for the Fleetfoxes who overcame the Titmuss' Russell Grant style prediction of further defeat with a victory margin of nearly 70 points.  I foresee further problems for South Ealing as they face my resurgent Tigers this week.

At the top of the league, Norwich No overcame the formerly undefeated Oxford Knights (Chris should be getting used to this by now) to take the number one spot.  Both teams are now 4-1.

This must be how it feels to be the Tennessee Titans....

At the top of the league Chris continues to make up for his poor baseball results by stomping all over everyone on the football field, whilst at the bottom Arden continue to keep my team company in searching for their first win (thanks Mark!)

H2HWS United Kingdom B - Post Season Results

After dominating the league for practically all season the Swansea Jacks failed to win a week in the post season, leaving 2nd placed Coventry Curve to take the title after a 5-5 thriller against regular season 5th placed Sloane Sox.

With only two games left to play I thought that I was in for my first win of the season, all the sweeter for it being against my vanquishers from last season, the Oxford nee London Knights.  At this point I enjoyed a thirty point lead with the Knights only having one player left - unfortunately that player was Payton Manning whose 379 yard, 4TD performance (38.06) was enough to consign my Tigers to their third straight loss.  This result also left the Knights as the only unbeaten team in the league as the other undefeated teams, Rainow, Enfield and Ealing all lost this

The american football is going even worse than the baseball, though it is never going to be a good week when 4 of your first five picks combine for a total of  2.30 points - it's just as well that I have the proper football to fall back on.

After week 2 we have four teams that remain undefeated....

United Kingdom A - Semi-Finals

Goodbye UK A, hello UK B.  The semi-final week saw the end of my slim hopes of staying in the top teir of UK fantasy baseball as I lost my chance to finish in 7th place to Felixstowe Fury who will be facing the Woking White Sox over the next two weeks for the right to stay with the 'elite'.

In the slightly more important battle to actually win the league the long time leaders, Norwich Fire will be taking on the Havent Hackers having defeated the Durham Dice-K's and Enfield Lips respectively.

Some good close matchups this week - 3 of the 6 were decided by less than 5 points - which bodes well for a competitive season, and also means that I am most likely not the only manager cursing players left on the bench.  In my case this was due to forgetting about the season starting on Thursday and leaving Santonio Holmes and his 23.6 points on the bench.

At the top of the draw, the tie-break went in favour of Durham Dice-K's who go on to face Norwich Fire, whilst at the bottom the Havent Hackers succeeded against South Shields Yankee.

United Kingdom A - Final Standings

In the end I did not even manage to finish 7th - that "honour" went to the Orpington Biscuits - still 8th place gives me a week off of sorts.

In the part of the league that still matters, Norwich Fire and Enfield Lips get the bye week whilst they wait to find out their semi-final opponents who will be the winners of Birmingham Redbirds and Durham Dice-K's (Norwich) and Havent Hackers and South Shield Yankees (Enfield).

H2HWS United Kingdom B - Regular Season Final Standings

First off, I apologize for the lack of posts. A move of home (which local government almost changed into homelessness) at the start of June, followed by a couple of months of getting my mental health back together, pushed posting here down my priority lists.

H2H SuperBowl - UK Draft

Half of the league was able to turn up for the draft with 6 teams having to rely on their pre-rankings and autodraft - which might go some way to explaining why 8 teams had selected kickers before the final round.  I was quite happy with how my draft started but got a bit distracted in the middle, the result of which was missing my seventh pick and getting Carson Parmer as my QB.
