2009 - AUS

So after the failed attempt at "stealing" the pitching categories in 2008 (see my blog during last year, and the speed at which I stopped reporting on the strategy), i'm back with a new plan... This one is probably not far from the general tactic that most apply, but I still think there's enough here to make a note of it.

I'm not saying I believe 100% in the moneyball theory, but I do believe in the theory of exploiting deficiencies among the rest of the crowd.

H2H AUS Wrap-up

Well as the playoffs have come to an end, here are the final standings for season 2009... congrats to the NKOTB Redhill Rookies for finishing 4th after the regular season, and taking down a convincing 10-2 victory in the 1st place playoff.

Special mention to our man Psydney Psychos who had another regular season 1st place (2nd in 3 years, and 4th top 2 finish in 5 years). But alas, he couldn't take home the biscuits this season, being eliminated by the eventual champ in the semi-final week. Still he'll always have that 2008 title.

H2HWS Australia - Final Regular Season Standings

I hate to boast..... but..... for the 5th year Psychos has finished either 1st or 2nd in the Australian league. It is not quite London Knights level yet though.

H2H AUS - Week 10

After 10 weeks we still have the reigning champ leading the pack and we have just 10 games seperating 4th and 12th. Should be a very interesting second half.

"Stealing" the Pitching Categories - Week 8

Well what can I say? For those of you that attend the site regularly you can probably tell from the way i haven't posted since week 1 that my grand plan has been somewhat of an epic failure....

I guess the optimist will look at the 1 win and 1 draw i have to go with my 6 losses. But I see the losses and feel nothing but frustrated.

H2H AUS Week 4

So after a month, we have the defending champ setting the pace, and a few teams are already looking down the barrel of a long season....

"Stealing" the Pitching Categories - Week 1

OK so first of all - the result, a 5-6 loss. Was it disappointing? Yes. Did my starting pitchers let me down? Yes. But am I excited about the next 21 weeks? ABOLUTELY.

"Stealing" the Pitching Categories

So i'm not gonna lie - never done one of these blogs - but thought this year on top of posting the H2H AUS League results each week i'd start a little blog to do with my team for 2009..... why should you care? Well if you read on, you'll see what the fuss is about (I hope).....

Dead Teams

I was sending this email out to a league commissioner, and decided it would be best just to repost it for all.

You can find the last time somebody checked their team by clicking the managers tab on the front of your Yahoo league page.

2008 Beijing Olympics

Anybody else following the Olympics? For those in the USA, you can catch TV coverage on NBC, and late night TV coverage on the USA network.

Personally, I have never been a fan of the opening day stuff. I live in San Diego and we have fireworks every night, so thats no biggee. Parades themselves have always bored me, unless of course it's Kobe Bryant on a float, but that's different now isn't it.

H2HSB: Full up

I am happy to announce that all H2H Super Bowl leagues have been filled.

United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, International, California, New York, OH/PA, and Michigan.

That is eight leagues in total, a somewhat hodge podge of leagues actually, as we have a few members drafting in time zones up to twelve hours behind them. But still. we are full. Yipeee.

H2HWS: Australia week 20

WELL HERE WE ARE WITH JUST THE 2 WEEKS LEFT TO GO.... YOU WOULD HAVE TO THINK WE HAVE OURSELVES A GUARANTEED TOP 4, AND JUST THE 2 FINAL SPOTS TO BE DECIDED, LIKELY BETWEEN 3 AND POSSIBLY 4 TEAMS... AND ANOTHER 4 TEAMS WITHIN 12.5 GAMES OF 6 WONDERING IF THEY CAN GO SOMETHING LIKE 20-4-0 OVER THE NEXT 14 DAYS AND PULL OFF SOMETHING MAGICAL... IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THE MAXIMUM MOVES LIMIT COMES INTO PLAY OVER THE NEXT MONTH OR SO.

H2HSB: Draft's only days away.

I just wanted to get an update out there for everyone that is playing in this seasons H2H Super Bowl.

For the most part, all the leagues are full. I have one opening in New York, one in Ohio/PA, and last I heard, one in the UK. Of course invites have been sent out for all those leagues, but I would really hate to see dummy teams go in those leagues. It might be a possibility though. Keep your fingers crossed we don't.

Beijing Olympics Day 5

there is quite a battle brewing between the USA and China for the medal count. If it isn't for Phelps, the USA could be in a lot of trouble.

Speaking of Phelps, did anybody watch that swimming relay yesterday? The Americans destroyed the world record by like 5 seconds. How is that possible?
