Head 2 Head World Series

Welcome

The Head to Head World Series is now in it's 4th season. We currently have over 300 fantasy teams from every corner of this green globe, totalling 25 leagues .. .. and growing. There are leagues in Brazil, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and yes USA. The USA is broken down by regions or states, creating some insane battles each and every season.

All games are free of course via Yahoo, and ultra competitive.

Head to Head World Series .. .. do you play?

Captain's (B)log: H2HWS Playoffs Round 1

If you were following the daily updates on last week's Blog, you'll know that one of the 1st-round games was pretty much decided by midweek, but the other was subject to a dramatic late surge by one of the teams. But did they do enough to take the tie? Here are the results...

Chasing the Treble Week 22 - California Screamin'

Well, it appears that whatever Labor Day plans I had fell through and I figure to post my blog entry as scheduled. This last entry for the regular season is going to be more casual than usual as for some fantasy managers, their seasons are over while for those left standing, the real season begins: a 4-week stretch that promises action, drama,

Captain's (B)log: H2HWS Week 22

That's it. It's done. The regular season has drawn to a close. It was a dramatic final week in the H2HWS, with the final playoff positions changing on a daily basis. Let's find out which teams joined LA Thrashers & London Knights in the postseason...

H2HWS: California South quarterfinals

Well it looks like it is going to be San Fransisco and San Fransisco advancing to the Inglewood quarter finals, as both the Pacificans and Giants cruised to easy victories.

The Pacificans attack was lead by Alex Rodriguez early and often, and somebody must have told Kid Wonderful that these Yankee games are meaningless, because he simply teed off. It was a great run by the Cal Blaze, but in the end Grady Sizemore and company simply came up short.

Captains's (B)log: England South Playoffs Round 1

No surprises in the first round of England South, as, just for once, the 3rd & 4th seeded teams both won their matchups - one comfortably; the other still in doubt until the final day...

H2HWS Illinois - Quarterfinals

4 teams move on, 2 of course that had been waiting to continue the road to the Illinois championship of the H2HWS,

UK North Playoff Quarter-Finals

Damn the D-Backs.

Whilst it is possibly slightly disingenuous to say that a week long fantasy match-up - and at this time of year, my fantasy season - could hinge on a single event, the decision of Arizona to scratch the Big Unit from his start on Sunday evening almost certainly has cost the Leicester Tigers a place in the semis.

H2HWS: Canada week 22

Hey look guys.

Canada!

Well I suppose I should get a little something up here. :)

Being a holiday weekend and all, I haven't had a chance to replace my high end keyboard yet, and today happens to be my sons birthday, so I can't see it happening today either. Surprisingly, my fingers are somewhat evolving to this GE keyboard. Yes i said GE.

H2HWS Illinois Week 22

Well the drama is over and the teams still playing in the upper tier playoffs are known and,

the slate is wiped clean and once again it is anybody's title to win (as long as you're in, that is)

So with no further ado, the Final 2009 H2HWS Illinois Regular Season Standings;

Captain's (B)log: England South Week 22

16 teams entered. 6 remain standing. 3 of them finished tied for 2nd place, separated only by the final week tiebreaker. The England South Championship is anyone's to win...

H2HWS: UK North week 22

The scores are in, the matchups calculated and the battle for the playoffs in the UK North has come to a close. Typically several of the matchs this week were close affairs though Norwich No recorded an 8-1 victory over Sheffield which was enough to take them to the top of the standings and Darlington DIce-K's had a 9-2 win over Earlham which was enough to move them from seventh to fifth and a playoff space.

H2HWS: overall standings week 21

Here are the overall standings with 14 leagues reporting in.

just one week to go.

H2HWS: Illinois week 21

Well, the Bandits from Bashing put a few nails in the coffins of the other Illinoisians when they defeated the immigrants from Minnesota, meanwhile Pale Hose took advantage and claiming the 6th spot if only for one week by defeating Money. The rest of the top 6 stayed in place as they knocked each other off.

Chasing the Treble Week 21 - With Little Fanfare

I'm probably having an Andy Rooney moment as I'm being nitpicky about nothing but I found last night's closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics to be a downer. It's difficult to try and upstage the emphatic yet intricate pageantry of the opening ceremony and it would be an injustice to compare the two, but it's worth noting that the ending was a surprisingly anti-climactic one. If you caught the tail end of the show, you would've seen world-class tenor Placido Domingo sing a duet with a famous Chinese soprano singer sing a little ditty dubbed with a rather corny (yet risque) title called "The Flame of Love".
