H2HSB UK - Week 11

Week 11 saw three more teams  - London Knights, Norwich No and Special Patrol Group - clinch their place in the playoffs with victories this week, with the London Knights beating the table topping Havent Hurlers in the lowest scoring matchup of the week (only 174.74 total points) compared to Norwich No's 140.72.

With two weeks to go there are two battles left, the top four teams will fight it out for the top two seedings whilst there is a five team battle for the last two places in the playoffs.

It is what it is

Yeah thats great. I started Forte of course, and he got me nothing. 50 yards I think. Even better, I benched Ryan Grant because he was facing the Bears D, ya know...
150 yards later .. oops

Chicagotribune.com Bears defense a holy mess

"All I can tell you is that, obviously, our defense isn't what it used to be," Brown said. "Everyone wants it to be what it used to be, and it's not that. It's all about performance, and we haven't been performing well. Wherever we're ranked, that's where we deserve to be ranked, know what I'm saying? "It is what it is. Once we come to grips that our defense isn't what it's supposed to be, we'll all be better off." "Our perception is that we have a good defense," Brown said. "The reality is we don't."

Tie Game? who ever heard of such a thing

UPI.com NFL: Cincinnati 13, Philadelphia 13 (tie)

Cincinnati's Shayne Graham's missed a 47-yard field goal with 7 seconds left in overtime Sunday and the Bengals ended up with a 13-13 tie against Philadelphia. The tie was the first in the NFL in six years.

Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb was intercepted three times and lost a fumble. McNabb finished 28-of-57 passing for 339 yards and a touchdown.

H2HSB UK - Week 10

Week 10 was the chance to gain revenge for all those teams who suffered a first week loss, an opportunity that was fully exploited by the London Knights.  Chris' team jumped out to an early lead on Thursday thanks to 164 yards and a TD from Eddie Royal - fortunately he left Jay Cutler on the bench or the Knights would have had 60 points on the board before the weekend.

monday night football

I am not much of a football fan, as most of you know, but how does a San Fransisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals game get prime time?

I may not be much of a fan, but even I know that is unwatchable. Neither team has won more than 8 football games since 2002, and I think it happened once. Is it because they are both leading the division this season? There is some back room dealings going on here or something.

Maybe the world wide leader just picked this game so they can say, "hey look, we covered a west coast game."

Pittman placed on injured reserve

I just dropped Selvin Young in two leagues. grrr

John Halpin's Fantasy Sports Blog Fantasy Football Morning Update: Browns switch to Quinn

The Broncos have lost every single one of their running backs for the season, and brought Terrell Davis out of retirement. OK, maybe it only seems that way. In reality, Michael Pittman and Andre Hall were placed on injured reserve, so they're done. Selvin Young is still nursing a groin injury, but he might be back Thursday against the Browns. By process of elimination if nothing else, rookie Ryan Torain is going to get plenty of work. He had three carries for a yard in Week 9, and the Rocky Mountain News said that Fantasy Hater Shanahan was hesitant to play Torain because he had little pass blocking experience. That Bronco offense sure went down the tubes, didn't it?

Orton could miss a month

Not a good year for quarterbacks ..

FOX Sports Blogs John Halpin's Fantasy Sports Blog

Just when he had turned into a solid fantasy starter, Bears QB Kyle Orton might miss a month due to the high ankle sprain he suffered Sunday against the Lions. Orton will have an MRI today, and in his absence the Bears will turn to the Jekyll-and-Hyde Rex Grossman, who was shaky in relief of Orton on Sunday. Up next for King Rex: The Titans at home, followed by the Packers at Lambeau. Uh-oh.
