Starting Pitching...it's deeper than you think

I'd like to talk for a moment about Starting Pitching going into 2008.  Now, a stigma from year to year is that good starting pitching is hard to find, and that a rare waiver wire pickup during the season (which doesn't seem so rare anymore) is necessary as people refuse to reach for their fantasy rotation.  Well, going into Andy Behrens' Expert Early Mockery Draft I'm participating in in about an hour, I've come to the conclusion that Starting Pitching is the deepest I've seen it in the Pre-Season, possibly ever... let's take a look.

The headline reads...'Twins agree to deal Santana to Mets for prospects'. I nearly jumped out of my seat -- no, I'm not kidding.

I was pondering position scarcity today, and I wondered how the Top 100 of 2007 shook out. Using Fantasy Baseball Central's 2007 Player Ranking, I broke it down positionally (due to multi-position eligibility, it adds up to more than 100).

Split City (Part 2)

Earlier we took a look at the splits of former AL MVP Justin Morneau.  I concluded that his inability to hit left-handed pitching, and his trend of collapsing in August and September are leading me to avoid him for 2008.  It wouldn't be fair, though, for me to say that without endorsing another candidate at 1B.  Enter Mark Teixeira.
