not much new here.

With two weeks to go we already know who is going to be getting playoff byes this year. As a matter of fact, the top two teams will face off this week in what many experts are saying is a finals preview for this years H2Hoops championship. Everybody else is simply playing for position.

The West is a totally different story. The 7th place team is some 13 games out of a playoff spot, and with two weeks left to play, the only thing undecided here is playoff positioning.

We still have one heck of a battle going on out East, as nothing has been decided with only two weeks to go. No team has clinched a playoff spot, and no playoff spot is secure. Its that tight.

I just went through all of the leagues and sent email invites for like the fifth time. For the A leagues that are still short a player or three, I also sent along an email that gave them 24 hours to take their seat.

If said players are not in their seat by tomorrow at this time, we have no choice but to promote the top ranked teams from the B leagues. We must move on.

This system does not work unless the main A league have 14 competitive teams.

It's that time again. Time to make your picks for March Madness. I believe Rump was at the top of the table last season, and he currently finds himself at the top of the table in the H2Hoops East league.

not much movement at the top of the standings

Is anybody surprised to see that the Enfield Lips have cliched a playoff spot already? The Lips have simply been at the top of the class this season.

The nice thing about the big dance here is that the battle for the playoffs currently goes nine teams deep with three weeks to play, and there is going to be some heated battles over the next few weeks.

Quite a different story out West.
Out west the top six teams are pretty much set with three weeks to go. Carlsbad has clinched a playoff spot already and the big battle seems to be over the second bye week.

Well we have three weeks to go in the regular season and nothing has been settled out East.
The top six teams still have a shot at a first round bye, and the playoff possibilities still go nine deep.

Yahoo fantasy baseball has a few new options this season, as many of you have heard by now. All great stuff too. One of the options that has not gotten a ton of publicity is the  "wait until called up to the majors" option. What this does is it forces minor league prospects to go through the waivers process once they are called up, plain and simple.

Enfield, Carlsbad and Kinston .. Go figure

It has been all Enfield in the Hoops championship game all season long, and nothing anybody has done, has even threatened to derail that. The Lips are 14-1-2 on the season.

The playoff chase currently goes nine teams deep, but in the end, it might not even matter.

David Marver would like you to know that his Carlsbad squad not lost a match-up all season long. I would like you to know that I don't care. He hasn't beaten the second place Olimpia Milano team yet, and Milano is of course the defending champion. :)

As I mentioned last week, we have a sweet little battle brewing out East.

With only four weeks to go, the top nine teams still have a dog in the fight, and only the top seeded Kinston Fireballs seems to be secure for the postseason. Rump stated before the season began that this was his league to lose, and nothing he has done this season has disproven that. So far the Fireballs have lead wire to wire.

So after the failed attempt at "stealing" the pitching categories in 2008 (see my blog during last year, and the speed at which I stopped reporting on the strategy), i'm back with a new plan... This one is probably not far from the general tactic that most apply, but I still think there's enough here to make a note of it.

I'm not saying I believe 100% in the moneyball theory, but I do believe in the theory of exploiting deficiencies among the rest of the crowd.

I rock, you suck. My team is awesome, yours is dirtbag. I am going to win, you wont.

We have a great little fight going on out East between the 2-8 teams. Next week we will look into it more.

I've been really bad about posting these lately. Sorry. I have an auction going on. Its no excuse I know, but I won't miss any more time the rest of the way. promise.

Well almost anyways. There were three or four people I slotted wrong already, but eh, I caught it.

As most of you know, Yahoo opened up for twenty ten business earlier this week, and with that, fantasy players start getting an itch to see their teams name slotted into a league somewhere, anywhere. And that's the key as far as i am concerned.

Yahoo has seen fit to grant us an early St Valentines present. The leagues are open. I feel all warm and fuzzy, don't you?

They drastically changed the commissioner settings with lots more options. All for the good as far as I am concerned. The more buttons to toy with the better. Thanks Yahoo. No seriously, this OCD sufferer thanks you.
